Soon trapped on the treacherous peak by a blizzard, a mysterious killer continues to stalk the cast and crew of  Planet Survival . What started out as a game is now a deadly competition for survival. As the temperature drops and the body count rises, what will get them first? The mountain or the killer? Review : I am a big ol' sucker for anything to do with natural disasters, especially plots where people get stranded somewhere with no escape from the weather. Which this book gave me in spades. I hadn't read anything else by Greyson, and this is the fifth book in the Jack Stratton series,

Review: Pandamonia by Chris Owen and Chris Nixon

Pandamonia by Chris Owen and Chris Nixon Summary:  When visiting the zoo, whatever you do, DON’T WAKE THE PANDA! Join in the fantastic fun as one grumpy panda sets off a frenzy of wild partying. Review: WhaleSnark here!  What caused me to pick this book up in the first place was the colors on the cover. You just cannot go wrong with greens, yellows, and blues for catching a reader's eye! This is a picture book, but it has some absolutely intense and hilarious rhyming and tongue-twisters in it! Here's a sample:  "The chimps chit-chatter. The ducks start quacking. The jabirus jabber  and yaks start yakking So waking the panda might spark off a riot, and that's why we like to keep things nice and quiet." There are some animals in this book that I had not even heard of before I read it, and I'm REALLY into knowing all about animals!  The art is vibrant and very pleasing to look at. It features wood block prints of animals that are not us

Look at this stuff, isn't it neat?

Spook: Science Tackles the Afterlife Reviewer: Peekaboo Author: Mary Roach Publisher:  W.W. Norton and Co Publishing Date: September 26, 2006 Genre:  Nonfiction - Science Rating: 5 stars  Amazon   Goodreads Summary:  "What happens when we die? Does the light just go out and that's that—the million-year nap? Or will some part of my personality, my me-ness persist? What will that feel like? What will I do all day? Is there a place to plug in my lap-top?" In an attempt to find out, Mary Roach brings her tireless curiosity to bear on an array of contemporary and historical soul-searchers: scientists, schemers, engineers, mediums, all trying to prove (or disprove) that life goes on after we die. Review: In typical Mary Roach style, this book kicks a lot of ass. If you've read a Mary Roach book before, you know what you are getting into. A lot of humor, facts presented in a way that is both interesting and educational (and very far from boring), and no des
