WhaleSnark Review: P.S. I Miss You by Jen Petro-Roy

Hey There Friendos! It's WhaleSnark!Where have I been? Where have you? Ha! You were waiting patiently for me to write? Awwwww, that's great! I am glad I mustered the gumption to get on here and write something! Yay to us!

That's me! (In case you were wondering.)
So, I have yet to review a middle-grade fiction for Pride Month. Time to remedy that. It's June and it is overdue. I finished the book a bit ago, but I wanted to take a slow swim to process what I read.

The book: P.S. I Miss You by Jen Petro-Roy

Okay, so this book is one you read in the quiet of a rainy afternoon. It requires a certain kind of attention that we do not give to many books. Contemplation was a huge part of reading this book. It's  a story of first love between two girls, a story of family strife, of happy moments, and of horrid ones. I really liked it. It left me feeling like I needed to read more, which in my giant megaton opinion, is always a good thing.

Evie is an enchanting young person who the reader grows with in the epistolary letters she write to her older sister Cilla, who was sent away for becoming pregnant. It evolves quickly over a school year and into the summer. Evie never tires writing to her sister about her new crush, her classmates, her parents seemly forgetting Cilla exists, and how much she wants to see Cilla again. It is a book I would definitely recommend if you want to read a story of blossoming love, and some really heart-gripping drama.

Great read! My aunt sent me this book in the mail and told it was written by a Girl Scout. High praise! Check it out!
